Thank you for visiting the Guard-A-Kid website! The simple fact that you are here indicates that the |
safety and well being of your children is of great importance to you. As your local Child Safety |
Specialist I will go to great lengths to ensure the proactive protection of the children in our |
community. I will also strive to help educate parents and children about the dangers in our own |
back yard, as well as provide you tools to better protect your precious children. |

First I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mindy Garland-Sayler. Like you, I am a proud |
parent. My children are 6 and 18 months. Becoming a mother is by far the greatest privilege I |
will ever experience. I believe I think as parents everywhere do, that the safety and well-being of |
my children is the most important aspect of life. The desire to do all that I could to keep them safe |
and well is what led me to becoming a Child Safety Specialist with Guard-A-Kid. |

When I first became familiar with what Guard-A-Kid does, I was intrigued by the comprehensive |
nature of the products and services offered. I thought child identification kits, especially kits as |
complete as those offered through Guard-A-Kid, was a great way to fulfill the desire I have had for |
a long time to do something truly meaningful. The more research I did, and the more information |
I gathered from institutions such as The Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the FBI, as well as |
North Dakota's state website, I began to realize that not only would this line of work be fulfilling to me, |
I would be offering a service that is truly needed. |

We, as North Dakotans, sometimes think of ourselves as "safe" from world dangers. However, as |
the demographic climate of our area continues to change we may need to re-evaluate some of our |
thinking. For example, I was horrified to learn that there are 17 registered sex offenders that live |
near the daycare MY children attend! Many of these offenders committed sexual crimes against |
children, some as young as 3 years old. To check the names and addresses of sex offenders that |
may live in your area go to www.sexoffender.nd.gov. |

|
No parent should ever have to worry about the safety and well-being of their children, but sadly, we |
do. Being prepared for the unthinkable can help ensure the safe recovery of a child, should they |
ever become missing. I have come to believe that the products and services offered through |
Guard-A-Kid are of great value to my family, and would like to extend that level of peace of mind to |
your family. |

Sincerely, |
